Rachel Roberts, President

Roberts came to the association with 20 years of experience in policy consulting, government and nonprofit management and enjoys connecting business leaders, elected officials and community leaders. 

Roberts oversees the government relations, administration, programs and strategic plan for AMI, including member engagement, organizational improvements and growth, grants supporting industry knowledge, and public/private outreach.

Before joining AMI, was Strategy Development Manager at Public Health Management Corporation, the country’s 3rd largest health institute, where she worked was the Strategy development Manager and managed a portfolio of programs with the executive leadership Philadelphia’s regional nonprofits in developing operational improvements and strategic solutions.

Previously, as Principal of Roberts Consulting, she consulted with national organizations and associations on projects ranging from housing, urban and rural planning, economic development, small business start-up, and marketing to quality assurance and capacity-building systems, policy and research evaluation.

Roberts resides in Cochranville, PA. She grew up in Chester County. She has a son in college and daughter in high school in the Oxford, PA school district. She holds a B.S. in International Affairs, Political Science and Economics; and two Masters of Law and Social Policy and Research Development.

Lori Harrison, Editor, Mushroom News; VP, Communications

Lori joined the American Mushroom Institute in September 2017.

With almost two decades of experience developing and creating public relations and media  campaigns for the non-profit sector in Washington, DC, Lori Harrison has provided written  and editorial expertise to businesses that span consumer, manufacturing and travel  industries.  

 As Director of Communications for some of Washington, DC’s leading trade associations, Lori  spearheaded campaigns with Anheuser Busch, Miller Brewing Company, Travelers Insurance,  Greyhound and more to increase positive media visibility across various media platforms.  

 Prior to her experience in the association world, Lori served more than six years on Capitol Hill as a  communications assistant.

 Most recently, Lori worked on several projects with QVC providing written expertise across all their product lines  and was an account representative for a public relations firm specializing in consumer goods.

Lori graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Journalism. She lives in Downingtown, PA,  with her husband John and son Benjamin.

Amy Ducharme, Project Coordinator/Office Manager

Amy joined AMI in September 2018. She has nearly 20 years of experience working in the corporate world and has her associates degree in business administration. Her background  includes finance, pharmaceutical logistics, sales, and office management.

 Amy lives in Rising Sun, MD with her two daughters. In her free time, she loves going to the beach, hiking, exploring new towns and cooking up tasty mushroom recipes.  She looks forward to welcoming new members of AMI and expanding her knowledge about the mushroom industry.
