JIFSAN's FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food + HACCP Training

Date: May 14 - 16, 2019

The new FSMA regulations require that companies have a Food Safety Plan and that the person responsible for the management of the Plan must be a Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI). The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), in collaboration with FDA, has developed a training program curriculum designed to meet the requirement for PCQI certification. This program is now offered at JIFSAN.

After attending this training program, participants will have the awareness, knowledge, and tools to:

  • Recognize prerequisite programs in a food safety system
  • Describe the components of and create a Preventive Controls Food Safety Plan
  • Identify biological, chemical, and physical hazards and prescribe preventive controls for those hazards
  • Grasp allergen preventive controls requirements and the prevention of allergen cross-contact
  • Discuss sanitation preventive controls including monitoring, corrections and verification methods
  • Review supplier management and verification requirements
  • Understand verification and validation procedures
  • Know the elements of a recall plan
  • Serve as a PCQI for your company
  • Apply working knowledge of HACCP
