Food Safety Quality Assurance
Typical Position Type: Full Time
Typical Days Per Week: 5 to 6
Typical Starting Wage or Salary: $20/hour
Typical Responsibilities:
- Food safety document review and generation of corrective actions
- Environmental monitoring program, customer requirements
- Monitoring effectiveness of quality checks completed by employees
- Participate in internal audits, generate work orders, provide feedback to responsible areas
- Identify gaps that require procedures, develop procedures as needed, maintain accuracy of current procedures
- Use atp swabs to validate cleaning, develop trend database
- Coordinate efforts of employees in compliance with all gaps/gmps (good agricultural practices/good management practices) as specified in
- Review and revise all food safety plans with the cooperation or area managers
- Develop and coordinate annual refresher trainings for all production employees
- Continual of food safety program
- Participate in food defense re-assessment
- Prepare for and assist with 3rd party audits
- Train employees to comply with customer requirements
- Coordinate food safety audits of all production areas
- Maintain the food safety documents
- Laboratory-taking sample, aseptic technique, recording/documentation
Typical Requirements:
- Computer skills necessary, use of Microsoft Office
- Good verbal and written ability in English & Spanish
- Ability to function well in team environment as well as work independently
- Strong public speaking ability, training multiple levels on various topics
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Time management is a must-multiple projects going on regularly
- Highschool completion or equivalent required
- College preferred or in progress in a related discipline
- Food production, food science, public health, or related field
- Prior FSQA activities helpful
- Experience in leading and training peers/adults helpful
- Bi-Lingual-Spanish
Food Production Manager
Typical Position Type: Full Time
Typical Days Per Week: 5 to 6
Typical Starting Wage or Salary: $9/hour
Typical Responsibilities:
- Oversee mushroom production operations including efficient process management, quality control, safety
- Manage and control labor and costs/budgets and analyze areas requiring improvement
- Formulate, implement, and improve processes and programs which guide the organization in maintaining and growing its competitive position and growing volume of the operation
- Establish and monitor quality control and safety systems Ensure all safety and food management regulations are strictly enforced
- Develop effective food preparation and documented cost management strategies, with emphasis on product quality and waste minimization
- Contribute to the strategic development and management of career paths and succession plans
- Maintain effective communication, giving direction, support, timely documented feedback and recognition of performance
- Monitor logs, complete orders and develop metrics
- Routinely conduct inspections to ensure equipment and production line is properly functioning
- Ensure all hey areas are routinely cleaned and sanitized to meet and exceed standards
- Measure productivity and identify cost reduction and/or program improvements
- Work closely with management and team leaders in following processes, procedures, and policies
- Control and manage COVID safety procedures as applicable
Typical Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Management, Logistics, Operations, or Business Management.
- Minimum 5 years experience in an operations role, must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Logistics/Manufacturing background may be ideal
Production Line Worker
Typical Position Type: Full Time
Typical Days Per Week: 5 to 6
Typical Starting Wage or Salary: $9/hour
Typical Responsibilities:
- Scale tills of mushrooms to weight
- Grade product for quality and presentation
- Wrap, label and date packages of mushrooms
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices(GMP’s) for food processing
- Good communication with supervisors and other employees
- Hourly cleaning and organization of work areas
- Other jobs as needed
Typical Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to work early mornings as well as weekends and holidays
- Must be able to move hands at a continuous fast pace to keep up with product flow
Stacker
Typical Position Type: Full Time
Typical Days Per Week: 5 to 6
Typical Starting Wage or Salary: $9/hour
Typical Responsibilities:
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)on the safe handling and proper scanning and/or stacking of product at the Crop Production Management (CPM) station
- Ensuring that product in containers meets quality standards
- Daily cleaning of equipment and area
- Accurate completion of daily logs and reports according to the SOP
- Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) for food processing
- Good communication with supervisors and other employees both within the department and among satellite harvesting facilities
- Wrapping, labeling and moving pallets
- General duties as required
Typical Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- Must have an eye for detail
- Must be able to report to the facility where work stations are located each day
- Must be able to work early mornings as well as weekends and holidays
- Ability to adhere closely to SOPs
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus
